Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Dean Lockhart has today met with Stirling Gin owner Cameron McCann to visit the site of their new distillery and visitor centre in Stirling.
The site of the distillery is located in the old blacksmith building on Lower Castlehill, and is currently under renovation to transform into Stirling’s first gin distillery by the beginning of 2019.
Dean has been very supportive of the project from the outset and praised the ingenuity of the brand and the potential impact for the local Stirling economy.
Dean Lockhart MSP said:
‘’It was great to visit the site for the first time to see the historical building- which once transformed will house a unique visitor attraction for Stirling.
‘’The Scottish Gin industry has moved forward significantly over recent years- and Stirling Gin has been a part of that growing industry for a number of years now.
‘’Stirling Gin opening up a distillery and visitor centre in the heart of Stirling’s old town will drive footfall and has the potential to boost the local economy significantly.
‘’I wish Cameron and June the very best with the project, and I look forward to visiting once the work is complete.’’
