Dean moves to new role

Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Dean Lockhart has been moved to a new role in the Scottish Conservative Shadow Cabinet re-shuffle announced by new leader Jackson Carlaw MSP.

Mr Lockhart, MSP for the Mid-Scotland and Fife region and the Scottish Conservative candidate for Stirling in the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections, moves from Economy, Jobs and Fair Work and into a new role as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Business, Infrastructure and Transport.

Jackson Carlaw MSP was elected as the new leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party on Friday 14th February 2020 with almost 76 per cent of the vote, defeating Michelle Ballantyne MSP.

Dean Lockhart MSP said:

‘’I am delighted to have remained in the Shadow Cabinet under Jackson’s leadership, and moved to a new role covering Business, Infrastructure and Transport.

‘’With new ferries being delayed and over budget, trains in chaos and roads needing hundreds of millions of pounds of repairs, I am determined to do all I can to hold this SNP Government to account for its failures.

‘’However, our collective task is to look ahead to the Holyrood elections in 2021 and provide the real alternative government which Scotland desperately needs.

‘’In my role and the front bench, I will do everything I can to ensure that we do just that.’’
