Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Dean Lockhart has been moved to a new role in the Scottish Conservative Shadow Cabinet re-shuffle announced by new leader Douglas Ross MP.
Mr Lockhart, MSP for the Mid-Scotland and Fife region and the Scottish Conservative candidate for Stirling in the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections, moves from Business, Infrastructure and Transport and into a new role as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, Europe and External Affairs.
Dean Lockhart MSP said:
''I am delighted to be taking on this new role as part of Douglas Ross’s new team.
‘’We are facing another push for independence at a time when, as a country, we should be focusing on securing our close connections with the rest of the UK, especially given the uncertainty of the current Covid-19 crisis.
‘’This SNP Government must be held to account as they continue to drive their damaging and divisive obsession and I am pleased to be asked to be at the forefront of that fight.’’
