Dean Lockhart MSP, along with community councils and park bosses have met with Transport Scotland to discuss the safety of the A84 near Blair Drummond Safari Park.
Further to heavy congestion and serious incidents at the junction, representatives from across the political spectrum sought to bring Transport Scotland to the table to discuss options to improve the safety of the junction.
Present at the meeting as well as Mr Lockhart, Mr Crawford, Cllr Tweed and Cllr Macdonald were representatives from the Safari Park community councils and local residents.
Transport Scotland have agreed to draw up plans to ease safety concerns at the site, with options discussed including signals, road widening and a possible roundabout.
Dean was encouraged by commitments made by Transport Scotland bosses at the meeting and have urged these plans to be drawn up as soon as possible.
Dean Lockhart said:
‘’I am pleased that Transport Scotland have acknowledged the need for action at this problem junction and will now go ahead with planning possible solutions.
‘’It is important that these plans are drawn up as soon as possible so that my constituents can be reassured that appropriate action will be taken.
‘’It has been vital that cross-party agreement has been established on this issue and I would also like to thank Blair Drummond Safari Park for their commitment to find a solution.’’
