Scottish Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Dean Lockhart MSP, has urged all parties to get behind Scottish Conservative proposals on the circular economy.
During a debate on a Green Party motion on a Green New Deal for Scotland, Mr Lockhart reiterated his party’s proposals to transform the Scottish economy into a circular economy- reducing waste, maximising reuse and creating sustainable economic activity.
Proposals include encouragement for regenerative farming, incentivising electric car ownership, increasing recycling capacity and creating low carbon jobs with a new plastics recycling facility and tackling fuel poverty through making homes more energy efficient by bringing them all, where possible, up to an EPC Band C rating by 2030.
