About Dean Lockhart

Dean Lockhart MSP is a Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Mid-Scotland and Fife Region.

After being elected, he was appointed the role of Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs and Fair Work in Ruth Davidson's Shadow Cabinet and now holds the post of Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, Europe and External Affairs.

Before being elected to the Scottish Parliament, Dean was an Asia-based international lawyer and business adviser for 20 years, with experience across Scotland, London, Hong-Kong, Tokyo and Singapore. Dean has also served as First Secretary at the British Embassy in Manilla.

Dean’s educational background includes Law School in Scotland and England and an Executive MBA course at Harvard.

Dean grew up on a council estate. His father was a local grocer and Dean attended the local primary and secondary schools. Dean then went to Glasgow University.
