Trade between the United Kingdom and Latvia in 2017 was worth an estimated £1.4bn.

Dean Lockhart MSP said:

‘’It was an honour to be asked to speak at this lunch celebrating the centenary of Latvia.

‘’Trade and links between Latvia and Scotland date back centuries, and I was interested to learn more about these ancient ties in traditional industries such as wood processing, forestry and engineering.

‘’There are also great opportunities for our two countries to learn from each other moving forward in areas such as start-ups and emerging technology.’’
